4 basics of bird photography
1. Be patient:
Capturing bird is not an easy thing to do. You have to keep yourself calm and patient. Also you need to be lucky but luck doesn’t favor photographers in hurry.
2. Get Close:
Try and get close to bird to capture the details. Getting close is no small task as the bird may see you coming and fly away.
So keep a safe distance and try and use long zoom.
3. Use Continuous Focus:
Use continuous focus in your camera. For nikon, put the focus setting on AF (AF-C) mode. I am sure someting must be
there for canon as well.
Keep matrix metering when shooting birds in variety of background. However when shooting in open sky, try manual exposure if you are struggling to pick the bird in the brighter sky
