United Coffee House
There are a lot of things that might incline you into visiting Connaught place, be it shopping, or even a late evening stroll around the circumference of Delhi’s one of the oldest hangout destinations, but if it’s your palate that craves for some quality north Indian food, then United Coffee House definitely tops the charts for such places to visit in CP.
As the guard outside the restaurant opens that big main door to guide you in, you’ll be pleasantly surprised to see more foreign visitors occupying the covers than the locals. Even though the place has an ample two level seating area, prior reservations are still recommended to cut short on the waiting time.
What strikes at the first go are the chandeliers and colonial interiors, boosted by sharp regal touches that give this place its unique style quotient. The menu card has also been artistically designed with royal names given to almost every dish, classy enough to take you back to the Days of The Raj.
Their signature dish is the good old butter chicken, which they call it here as ‘Makhani Chooza’, and it surely doesn’t disappoint. After all there’s not much scope for stuff to go wrong when legacy gets served on the plate. Vegetarians must try the ‘Multani Champein’ and the ‘Badshahi Kofta’, in addition to the lip smacking Dal Makhni. Desserts are delicious, especially the ‘Warm Chocolate Sin Cake’ and the ‘Kala Jaam’.
Great food and an extremely courteous staff makes this place a must visit for a Sunday night family dinner.
